Complex background systems? Challenge accepted! is the flagship site of Friday Media Group, boasting over 362,000 ads placed each week. They’re passionate about recycling unwanted goods, upcycling and re-use. The Friday Ad service helps you sell no-longer-needed belongings, or find the perfect item at an amazing price. Their aim is to provide a great customer experience, so decided to approach a software provider with experience in classifieds sites. Fiare was chosen to renew their site with a fresh look and feel, bringing buyers and sellers together in an easy to use way.

There were some obstacles to overcome. The previous Friday Ad site had challenging legacy background systems and an overall infrastructure which made the various integrations and migrations of large amounts of data more complex. However, this was no insurmountable task for Fiare.

Building a modern marketplace site with high volumes, complex background systems and on a tight schedule was a great challenge. Utilising our experience from building high-volume sites with open source components and close cooperation with Friday Media enabled the project to meet its objectives.
